Alicia trained at the Barcelona Glass Centre, where she studied contemporary stained glass and fused glass design along with traditional glass restoration techniques. Here, she also developed her ideas for a jewellery collection. Alicia also received additional training from working with one of Spain’s foremost glass artists, Jose Castrillo, in his Barcelona studio. Following this, she returned to Scotland where she set up her Glasgow Glass Studio, where she undertakes all of her work including her stunning contemporary jewellery.
Since the opening of her studio in 2000 she has developed her work which includes one-off fused and sculptural glass pieces which are produced on a commission basis for private clients and public buildings. Alicia also repairs and restores glass. Her contemporary jewellery collection has also been developed at the studio, where her initial focus was to create necklaces and pendants. Following this she went on to develop matching pieces of jewellery alongside these, such as:

Alicia MacInnes’ jewellery designs are hugely popular. Each piece is handmade and individually finished and therefore, unique and original.
